How Redcap Tools builds planning guidance

Redcap Tools is a pre-hire planning resource. It helps people organise a sensible hire conversation; it does not approve methods, certify safety or replace site-specific advice.

What we use

  • Common UK pre-hire questions and repeated user problems.
  • Practical equipment categories: drills, breakers, cutters, sanders, dehumidifiers, air movers and cleaning attachments.
  • Clear boundary language: when to stop, check, ask a competent person or get specialist help.

What every planner should return

  • Recommended kit class, not a guaranteed exact product.
  • Upgrade and downgrade conditions.
  • Consumables, PPE and access checks.
  • Stop conditions where the job is not clear enough for simple hire planning.
  • A copyable handoff summary for a hire provider or competent adviser.

Safety boundary

Planner outputs are guidance-only. Always follow hire company guidance, manufacturer instructions, local site rules and competent advice. If the page says stop, the right next action is to clarify the job before hiring.

Review approach

Pages are updated when repeated questions change, hire categories shift, safety wording needs clarification, or a planner output becomes too vague to be useful.
