Guide
Drywall sander dust control before hire
Match sander, abrasive grade and extraction before sanding plasterboard or ceilings.
Quick answer
A drywall sander is only useful when dust extraction and abrasive choice are planned. Without that, it can spread dust faster than it removes filler.
Checks before hire
- confirm surface is dry and ready to sand
- choose abrasive grade before hiring
- connect extraction before starting
- protect adjacent rooms from dust
What to tell the hire desk
Describe the job, material or setting, scale, access and the thing that would make you stop. That gives the supplier a better route to the right machine, consumables and PPE than asking for a tool name alone.
Stop condition: Stop if suspected lead paint or asbestos texture; fresh plaster not cured; poor ventilation without extraction; overhead sanding beyond safe control.
